An Old Friend. The Manawatu Standard of the 19th says :— Messrs Billens and Bunting are taking some capital photographs just now, and a visit to their studio will repay one for the trouble. A magnificent photograph of the Royal Hotel boarders, for presentation to Mrs Fenton, on the occasion of the expiration of her lease, is a marvel of the photographic art and a worthy memento to possess.

Then there is a splendid picture of those who took part in the recent costume football match, every face and figure coming out with startling distinctness. The opening of the Bowling Club's season is also commemorated in a photograph of great excellence, as good as anything we have seen. The Club Hotel has been taken on a large scale, with genial Host Valentine in the foreground, and a large number of citizens anxious for a free photograph alongside. Besides these excellent outdoor views the firm has been kept hard at it with carte de visites and cabinets, and seem up to their eyes in work.
